Two female teenagers were over the weekend, rescued by the Nkpolu Orowurokwo local vigilante group, while roaming the street. The girls accused their guardians of sexual abuse and torture.
Chief Security Officer of the security outfit, Godstime Ihunwo in a statement yesterday, said he and his men saw the girls at Ekwe street while on patrol.
According to him, the girls said they were running away from sexual abuse and violence against them by their guardian and his son, a youth Corps member.
The girls aged 13 and 12 said they were taken from an orphanage home by a woman identified as Blessing Thompson who later died and were taken away by her brother, their present guardian.
Mr. Godstime stated that he took the girls to his office and informed the Human Rights Advocacy group who later handed them over to the Ministry of Social Welfare.
Meanwhile, a member of the human rights group, has called for proper investigation into the matter.
