Reactions have continued to trail the appeal by the Minister for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, to good spirited Nigerians to donate their buildings for conversion to isolation centers.

Recently, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), asked the federal government to convert the assets (buildings) recovered from corrupt Nigerians to isolation centers.

SERAP believes that asking Nigerians to donate their buildings will put them at greater risk of contracting the virus.

SERAP through it’s Deputy Director, Oluwadare Kolawole, advised the federal government to identify, publish, and use the confiscated assets recovered during the anti-corruption campaign as isolation centres.

You would recall that last week, the federal government through the minister for health had asked Nigerians to donate their buildings as isolation centres following the NCDC’s plan to increase the number of testings for COVID-19 infections.
