Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of directing immigration officials to seize her international passport at a Nigerian airport.
In a video circulating online, the Kogi Central lawmaker alleged that officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service stopped her from traveling and confiscated her passport on Akpabio’s instructions. She described the action as an attempt to intimidate her.
Akpoti-Uduaghan called on relevant authorities to intervene, insisting that the incident represents a violation of her rights as a serving legislator. Officials of the Senate President’s office and the Immigration Service are yet to respond to the allegations.
