Senator George Sekibo, representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly under the PDP, has urged the Rivers State Government, to embrace the rule of law and shun autocratic tendencies.
Sen. Sekibo, a party chieftain and an ally of Governor Wike made the call in a chat with journalists yesterday, while reacting to the demolition of two hotels in Rivers State by the Governor. This was for allegedly dissobeying the executive orders of the state Government.
The Senator, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on the Navy, said anyone who doesn’t follow the rule of law in doing things, is exhibiting autocracy and showing lawlessness. Sekibo who stated that he doesn’t want to join issues with the governor said in addressing grievances the rule of law should be followed.
This is the latest of reactions from stakeholders over the demolishing of two hotels in the state by Gov. Wike.
