The Rivers State Government has warned residents against dumping of refuse in drainages. The state also asked residents to clean their drainages to avert flooding during rainy season.
This directive was issued by the Rivers State Ministry of Environment following warnings from the Nigeria Meteorological Agency that there will be heavy down pour in the state this rainy season.
The Agency stated that the rains could lead to heavy flooding, capable of sacking people from their homes.
