Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State has announced that the Real Madrid Football Academy currently under construction in the state will be completed in August this year. This is due to the contractor’s claims that the COVID-19 made them loose 28 days that would have been used for the completion of the project.
Governor Wike made this known when he visited the project site of the academy at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Elekahia in Port Harcourt, Today.
Wike during the inspection tour to access the level of work done, noted that the Football Academy will commence full operations in September. This is when the full academic session will begin.
He noted that the state government will ensure it settles all the bills. This is so there will be no reason to delay completion of the project beyond the agreed date.
The contractor of the project in his remark assured the governor of delivering the project on the scheduled date.
