The state government inter-ministerial committee on Covid-19 visited Etche Local Government Area Today, June 10 2020. The essence of the visit was to sensitize the people on how to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
The inter-ministerial committee is saddled with the responsibility of sensitising residents on preventive measures against coronavirus. While also ensuring compliance with preventive measures as advocated by the state government.
The committee during the briefing, educated the people about the virus, while emphasising that COVID=19 is real.
They advised residents to prevent the spread of the virus by washing their hands and using hand sanitisers when necessary. They also asked residents to watch out for symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever, and cough with a history of exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.”
They further encouraged residents to practice good respiratory hygiene. Residents were encouraged to cover their mouths and nose while sneezing or coughing with tissue paper or their elbow. Then, dispose the used tissue safely. They specifically pointed out the importance of wearing face masks, urging residents to call help help lines for medical care if need be.
The committee warned against the spread of fake news on social media and encouraged residents to get information from the right channels.
