Rivers: NSCDC Uncovers Building Used For Storing Kpofire Products

A building used for storing illegally refined petroleum products known as “Kpofire” has been uncovered and sealed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Rivers State.

Micheal Ogar, commandant of NSCDC who made this known on Monday in Port Harcourt, said the building is located at the Cornerstone Junction in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the building has a plastic tank containing about 3,500 litres of diesel, two waste disposal trucks with inbuilt tanks, an uderground tank containing unquantified litres of illegally refined diesel, and a pumping machine.

He noted that officials of the command have been stationed at the building while they ensure the arrest and prosection of those involved in the illegal act.

He also said the command is committed to ensuring the end of the illegal act in the state.
