The Rivers State Police Command has faulted amnesty granted some cultists in Thai Local Government Area, of the state, describing it as a charade.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni who made this known in a chat with journalists said the cultists are not ready for the amnesty. This is due to their refusal to submit the arms in their possession.
Omoni who called on the cultists to seize the opportunity and donate all the arms in their possession said negotiations are still on going with the cultist to submit their arms. He stated that at the end of the process those found wanting would face the full weight of the law.
Omoni confirmed that those who submits their arms would be integrated into the society and be treated fairly.
