The Rivers State Police Command has killed three suspected kidnappers while rescuing 9 commercial bus passengers. The alleged kidnappers were said to have been attempting to hijack the commercial bus resulting in a gun battle with the RSPC at Okehi road in Etche LGA, Rivers State, on Sunday.
Spokesperson of the state command. SP. Nnamdi Omoni who made this known to journalists yesterday, said investigations are currently ongoing to arrest three members of the gang who fled the scene.
Omoni said officers of SARS, attached to the Okehi Police station swooped into action after getting a distress call about the incident.
He confirmed that the rescued passengers in the bus were rescued and allowed to continue their journey.
Meanwhile, stakeholders have commended the Police for their gallant efforts, while urging them to do more.
