The Rivers State Police Command, has confirmed the alleged killing of a 26-year-old man, Nonye Omoku in Egbede Community in Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State by suspected herdsmen.

Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a statement on Monday, said the CP Eboka Friday has ordered a full Investigation into the matter.

He appealed to residents of the community to remain calm as he assured them that perpetrators of the crime would be brought to book.

According to sources, the deceased was shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the community few days ago.

Brother of the victim, Confidence Wellington who confirmed the incident in a chat with journalists said Fulani herdsmen have been invading their lands.

Meanwhile, stakeholders of the community have urged the Police to ensure that killers of the young man are brought to book.

They also called on youths of the community to remain calm and allow the Police do their job.
