The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one Mr. Chukwuka Monye who volunteered to control traffic at Rumuokoro Junction on Saturday.
Sources say Monye an MSc holder was reportedly shot dead by gunmen in Police uniform riding in a patrol van after he had an argument with them.
However, Spokesperson of the command, Grace Koko in a statement said the gunmen were suspected cultists on Police uniform.
According to her, investigation is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The corpse of the deceased, we learnt has been deposited in the mortuary by the Police.
