The Rivers State Government, says it will provide portable drinking water to residents of Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas before it leaves office in 2023.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja said this while inspecting the State Government Water Facility at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, yesterday.
He stated that the water project when completed will cater for water needs of residents of Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas of the State.
He said the State Government is working tirelessly to ensure the provision of quality water for Rivers people.
The Hon Commissioner was accompanied on the inspection your by his Permanent Secretary, Mr Miabiye Kalio, MD, Port- Harcourt Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Chief Ibiabia Walter, Representative of the Africa Development Bank , General Manger, RUWASSA, Mr Napoleon Adah and others.
