The Rivers State Police Command, says it has set up a committee to investigate the activities of illegal oil bunkering in the state.
Spokesperson of the command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a statement yesterday.
He said four persons lost their lives in the fire incident at the Nembe Jetty, adding that they were burnt beyond recognition.
He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has ordered an aggressive investigation into the incident and all those found wanting will be dealt with.
Omoni, urged residents to report anyone who is into illegal oil refining including security operatives.
He described illegal oil refining as “economic sabotage” worst than criminality.
