The Rivers State Government has shutdown three dredging sites in Etche Local Government Area of the state.
The sites were shutdown when the Commissioner of Environment, Sydney Gbara embarked on inspection and assessment of dredging sites in the area on Thursday.
According to him, the sites were operating without license and their activities were inimical to the environment, adding that the current administration is committed to protecting the people and the environment.
