The Rivers State Government says it will set up a Taskforce to help put an end to the perennial traffic gridlock along the Azikiwe road axis of Port Harcourt.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development Rt. Hon. Evans Bipi made this known during a meeting with representatives of companies operating along the Azikiwe road
According to him, the Taskforce will have a representative of the companies as members, and will be given adequate support to bring sanity to the area in the quickest possible time.
He stated that the persistent traffic congestion along the Azikiwe road occasioned by the indiscriminate packing of trucks by truck drivers defaces the City Centre where the seat of power of Rivers State Government is located.
