22 inmates have been released from the Port Harcourt and Ahoada Correctional Centres by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Simeon Amadi.
Chief Magistrate, Rita Oguguor who represented the Chief Judge at the exercise which held at the PH Correctional Centre Today, said the gesture was part of an agreement between former governor, Nyesom Wike and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
She said the fine of the inmates whose cases had been settled by the court were paid by the state government.
She cautioned the released inmates to be of good conduct and stay off crime.
