MEMORY VERSE: ““And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 NKJV
TEXT: LUKE: 10: 38-END (KJV)
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

The feet are the lowest part of the frame of a man, woman inclusive. That part of the body that carries the other part of the body itself through different pathways including spiny paths, mud, slippery places, rocky and even filthy areas.
This shows above every part of the body, the feet are the humblest. This shows strength in humility. It is also true that unless the legs move, every part of the body stays one place motionless. For instance, no matter how far the eye can see, it is only when the legs move it can get there. This singular function of the feet to other part of the body is encapsulated in the world love.
Therefore, the feet of Jesus are based on which love is expounded to many who seek to know the truth.
It is important to know that the feet of Jesus signify humility. As children of the Most High, humility is required or should be deployed to be able to understand the word of God. That was the path many chose out of the many cares of life. In the midst of troubles and tribulations in life, choosing the right or good part is the most important in life. That good is in hearing the word of God. This is because the word of God is new every day. Even if hundred preachers preach on a topic, the Holy Spirit will explain the same topic in hundred different ways that sooth the soul and cause righteousness to spring forth, which is the major reason for hearing the word of God. Another reason why we must constantly hear ruminate or meditate on the word of God includes that the word of God is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Also, it is written that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
As children of God, we must learn to study the word, meditate in the word, hear or listen to the word as often as possible. Never presume in your heart that you have learnt or known enough. and slumber into the stupor of not renewing your mind with the spring of life, the word of God unwanted by the Holy Spirit.
- How seriously are engaged in studying God’s word.
- Father, grant me the grace to submit myself to you always.
