The Rivers State Government has cancelled the screening and verification exercise for indigenes offered provisional admission and scholarships into PAMO University of Medical Sciences for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The exercise, earlier scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026, will no longer hold, according to a public interest announcement issued by the State Ministry of Education on Thursday.
The announcement, signed by the Director of Higher Education, Mrs. Magdalene Wilcox, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, expressed regret over the cancellation and apologised for any inconvenience it might cause the affected candidates and their parents or guardians.
The Ministry also solicited the understanding of the affected candidates and their families over the development.
It reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote educational excellence, expand access to quality education and improve learning outcomes across the state.
The Ministry did not state a reason for the cancellation or announce a new date for the screening exercise in the notice.
