The Rivers State Government has announced that an inter-denominational thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday, September 14, 2025, as part of activities marking the state’s transition to democratic governance.

The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Ecumenical Centre, Abonnima Wharf Road, Port Harcourt, with guests expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, the service will be attended by permanent secretaries, local government chairmen, heads of security and paramilitary agencies, traditional rulers, board chairmen, captains of industry, government officials, and other invited guests.

Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, CFR, the Administrator of Rivers State, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
