The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) has postponed this month’s environmental sanitation exercise to Saturday, September 6, 2025.
RIWAMA Chairman, Samuel Nwanosike, announced the shift in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the adjustment was to enable residents participate fully in the local government elections slated for this weekend.
He appealed to residents to turn out in large numbers for the rescheduled sanitation exercise, cautioning that the agency would step in to clean compounds of those who fail to participate, but at a cost to the defaulters.
