The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has filed a suit seeking to halt the forthcoming local government elections scheduled to hold in less than 48 hours.
The suit, instituted by Awoala Joybel Emine on behalf of the party’s executives, challenges the list of candidates released by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), describing them as impostors.
The APC, led by Emeka Beke, is asking the court to compel RSIEC to accept its nominees as the valid flagbearers of the party and to invalidate any election conducted without their participation.
