The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), says it is having challenges with its dump sites, which explains why garbage are seen in parts of Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas.
Bro. Felix Obuah, Sole Administrator of the Agency disclosed this in a statement at the weekend.
He said some of the Agency’s major dumpsites are having major challenges, but that they are doing everything possible to rectify the issues.
He pleaded with residents to bear with the Agency, as evacuation of wastes would be delayed in Port Harcourt and its environs from Saturday.
Obuah further said that the Agency is committed to keeping the city and its environs clean, no matter what.
