The Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, has appealed to residents of Onne-Eleme road to bear with them for not being able to evacuate waste in the area, due to the protest by youths on Monday.
The agency, disclosed this in a statement it released on Monday.
It said they had gone to evacuate the waste but the blockade on the road by protesters hindered human and vehicular movements.
The agency, explained that as soon as they have access to the affected areas, the waste will be immediately evacuated.
“Sorry we are not able to remove waste along Onne Eleme road because of protest. Bear with us – RIWAMA,” the agency said.
Youths had yesterday barricaded the Akpajo axis of the East-West road, over the failure of Federal Government to repair the bad section of the road.
