An SS2 student of Greenoak International School, Port Harcourt identified as Victor Ikpolo has emerged winner of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Science quiz competition, in the South South region.
Victor, who represented Rivers State scored 65 out of 75 points, to emerge winner of the contest.
He beat representatives of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, who scored 55 points each, for the second position.
The student, in a chat with Daily Sun stated that “I am happy that I put in effort and my effort came out good in the end. I focused on every science subjects except English. I didn’t expect to answer questions from English. But, since I pay attention to regular English classes, so with that knowledge, I could answer the questions.”
Mr. Garba Muhammad, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, said the students were selected the 774 Locl Government Areas in the country.
He said the exercise was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
