Following a remark by the Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara on assumption of office that Rivers State is a Christian state, Niger Delta Activist, Asari Dokubo has come out to say that Rivers is not a Christian state.
In a trending video, Asari disclosed that Governor Fubara lacked the authority to declare the state a Christian one, adding that it goes against the principle of inclusivity and religious freedom.
He stated that the governor started his term on the wrong footing and advised him to retract his statement.
“I am using this medium to advise the governor, Sim Fubara, to better retract the statement,” he said.
“I want him to know that Rivers state is not and will never be a Christian state. With such a statement, I can say that the Governor is starting on a wrong footing,” he added.
