The Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, will on Monday, October 6, 2025, hold its maiden Annual Sendforth Ceremony in honour of 74 staff members who have completed their service to the institution.

The event, organised by the End of Tenure Planning Committee, will recognise 11 teaching staff, 51 senior non-teaching staff, and 12 junior non-teaching staff for their years of dedicated service and contributions to the university’s development.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, will serve as the chief host of the ceremony scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Convocation Arena.

The Registrar, Mrs. I.B.S. Harry, called on members of the university community to participate in the ceremony, which is expected to feature tributes, speeches, and reflections on the retirees’ decades of service.
