The Rivers State House of Assembly, today, Wednesday, 5th July, 2023 gave the supplementary Appropriation Bill Third Reading. The Bill was passed after the Ad-hoc Committee on Appropriation presented its Report on the floor of the House. Which was debated upon both in Plenary and Committee of Supply.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Martin Amaewhule While reporting progress on the Bill in Plenary averred that the passage of the Bill was to encourage proper funding of the Port Harcourt Ring Road Project, And to ensure early Commencement and Completion of the project.
He said the approval would eliminate abandonment of projects which is in sync with the Consolidation and Continuity spirit of the administration.
Recall that the State Governor, Sir, Siminalayi Fubara Forward the Supplementary Appropriation Bill to the House on Friday, 30th June, 2023 via a letter, which was read in the floor of the House by the Speaker.
The House has Adjourned Plenary to Monday, 10th July 2023.
