Port Harcourt – The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), has vowed to complete the state assembly complex within six months.
During an on-the-spot assessment of the facility, Ibas emphasized that his mandate includes restoring full and effective legislative activities in the state. He noted that while the executive arm of government is functioning, the absence of a working legislature remains a critical gap.
“For the legislature to operate effectively, they need a functional workspace. I am not yet certain that work is progressing as expected, but by the end of six months, this complex must be ready for use,” he stated.
His commitment comes amid efforts to ensure governance structures in Rivers State operate seamlessly.
