A former Senator, who represented Rivers East Senatorial District, Sen. Magus Ngei Abe has commended the chairman of Gokana Local Government Area, Confidence Deekor for his “purposeful leadership.”
Abe, in a statement after he was awarded alongside 34 others for their contributions to the development of the area, during the 30th Anniversary celebration of Gokana, said the council boss, has transformed the LGA.
He said the chairman had the opportunity to divert the conucil’s resources for his personal use like previous chairmen, but chose to develop the area and invest in the people.
Abe, called on the people to always support him, as he encouraged him to continue his good works for the people.
The council boss, Hon Confidence Deekor on his part, thanked the recipients for their contributions to the growth of the council.
He noted that his administration will not tolerate gang violence and any form of communal crises.
He also said measures have been put in place to sustain the economy, ensure peace and security, human capital development, skill acquisition amongst others.
