Some persons arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Rivers State, over alleged involvement in illegal oil refining activities have denied any involvement in the crime.
The suspects, while being paraded at the NSCDC office in Port Harcourt, said the agency lied against them.
One of the suspects, in a chat with journalists said he has never indulged in the act in his entire life, adding that he was illegally arrested for a crime he knows nothing about.
The suspects were arrested few days ago, at an illegal oil dumpsite located around a church compound in Borokiri.
A Green Nissan Car ladened with suspected illegally refined petroleum products (AGO) amongst other items were recovered from the suspects.
The Commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Abu Abdu Tambuwal, disclosed this while parading the suspects in Port Harcourt on Monday.
