Governor Nyesom Wike has sworn-in the Deputy Chairman of Asari-Toru LGA, Mrs Alaso Johnbul Obi as the Chairperson of the council. This makes her the first elected female Local Government Council Boss in Rivers State.
Mrs. Obi was sworn-in following the death of the Former Chairman, late Odiari Princewill, who allegedly died of COVID-19.
The governor during the event which took place at Government House Port Harcourt, advised the newly elected council boss to ensure she delivers the dividends of democracy to her people.
Gov. Wike also urged Mrs Obi to consult widely with members of the party before appointing her deputy.
