The Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Eratus Awortu has confirmed the arrest of three fake medical practitioners by the council.

The Chairman, in a statement yesterday, said the the suspects, identified as Williams Biranwi, Gift Harvest and Patrick Effiong were arrested in Asarama Town, after a medical personnel in the area, alerted the council.

According to him, the suspects who had performed surgeries on patients, were illegally working as health practitioners without proof of qualifications.

He confirmed that Gift and Williams claimed to be auxillary nurses while Friday claimed to a health assistant.

He noted that the three suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
