The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Rivers State, Dr. Johnson Alalibo, has assured stakeholders that all sensitive materials for Saturday’s senatorial bye-election are secure and have not been compromised.
Speaking during the distribution of sensitive election materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters in Port Harcourt, Dr. Alalibo said the materials would be conveyed under tight security to the seven local government areas participating in the poll.
He expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s preparedness, stressing that INEC is fully equipped to conduct a credible, transparent, and seamless bye-election.
The REC also called on political party representatives and election observers involved in the distribution exercise to remain vigilant and collaborate in safeguarding the electoral process against any form of interference or sabotage.
“All sensitive materials for this Saturday’s bye-election remain intact and have not been tampered with,” Dr Alalibo stated. He added that stakeholders must “remain vigilant and work collectively to ensure that no individual or group undermines the electoral process.”
