The Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council Media in Rivers State has alleged that there was an attempt by those they described as “agents of sour politics” to ransack and possibly vandalize and main humans at its campaign office situated at Igbukwu street in D/Line Port Harcourt.
The group made this known in a statement titled a Clarion call on security agencies to keep Rivers State under watch.
According to the group, political difference should never lead to violent disruption of politics, adding that Rivers State is gradually becoming a bad influence for other states.
The statement reads,
A CLARION CALL ON SECURITY AGENCIES TO KEEP RIVERS STATE UNDER WATCH
We, members of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council Media Team, Rivers State, do condemn vehemently another attempt by the suppressive agents to forcefully gain entrance into the AtikuOkowa Campaign Office situated at Igbukwu Street, D/Line, Port Harcourt.
It has come to our knowledge that another botched attempt was made to ransack and possibly vandalise and maim humans at the D/Line campaign office by agents of sour politics. Rivers State has become a very bad example in Nigeria, and we are so, so concerned about the image our state has worn these few months.
We urge President Mohammadu Buhari, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director of DSS, Commissioner of Police, Rivers State and other law enforcement agencies to step up. There is an urgent need to keep Rivers State under watch.
Political difference should never lead to violent disruption of politics. This should stop before our dear nation occupies a shameful position in the Comity of Nations. Our state is gradually becoming a bad influence for other states, and this should worry the law enforcement agencies.
