Unconfirmed reports say plans are underway by the Rivers State House of Assembly to derecognize Sir. Celestine Omehia as former governor of the state.
Omehia, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and ally of governor, Nyesom Wike is rumoured not be in the good books of the governor over his support for Atiku Abubakar.
Wike, had few years ago restored the entitlements and benefits of Celestine Omehia as a former governor of the state.
He said Omehia deserves being acknowledged for occupying the office between May 29 to October 25, 2007.
The supreme court annulled Omehia’s election, few weeks after he was declared winner by INEC.
