Former Federal Lawmaker and Rivers Governorship hopeful, Magnus Ngei Abe says the All Progressives Congress in the state cannot afford to make an outsider its flagbearer in the 2023 governorship election.
Abe, said this at the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, in Obio/Akpor local government area, on Thursday.
According to him, the governorship seat is important to him, and that he would do everything possible to get it.
The former lawmaker also said he has gained nothing from the party, despite being one of its founding members, adding that he joined the party because he believed they could get things done the right way.
Abe, noted that they want to form an APC government in the state; a government that will be for the people and serve the interest of Rivers people, irrespective of party affiliation. “We will serve you before we serve ourselves,” he said.
He advised electorates and party members against following politicians sheepishly, as he urged them to ask questions when things are not done correctly.
He, furthermore, said he is supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed President, Buhari not because of his personal interest but, because he is most qualified to transform the nation.
