The Rivers State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, has reacted to the defection of some of its members to the All Progressives Congress.
Chairman of the PDP in the state, Desmond Akawor in a statement in Port Harcourt, on Monday, said the defection is completely inconsequential to the fortunes of the party.
He alleged that the two former commissioners left the party for the APC, because they were sacked by the state Governor.
Akawor stated that the state remains a stronghold of the party, no matter what happens.
He also said the party will start receiving high profile returnees from the All Progressives Congress, into its fold from this week.
