The People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State has described as rumours reports of a court ruling sacking executive members of the party.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Sydney Gbara in an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, described the report as a move by “moribund politicians seeking notice in the political circle”.
According to him, the said document should be disregarded as there is no official document dissolving the state executive members.
“It’s just one of those rumours that people fly about” he added.
A court document circulating on social media had stated that the Rivers PDP executives, who nominated Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the flagbearer of the party in the 2023 governorship race were not the authentic EXCOs recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and therefore dissolved.
