The Rivers State Police Command, has denied reports that two passenger buses were hijacked by heavily armed gunmen along the Emouha axis of the East West Road on Monday.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Grace Iringi Koko in a statement yesterday, said only one passenger bus was hijacked.
According to her, the bus has been found, and that efforts are on to rescue those abducted.
She called on the families of those abducted to remain calm, as the command is working round the clock to ensure the release of their loved ones.
DSP Grace also called on members of the public to provide the command with relevant information that would lead to the arrest of the abductors.
The bus was reportedly heading to Degema from Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, when it was hijacked.
