The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Rivers State, Micheal Ogar, has been removed from office over the command’s faceoff with members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Wednesday.
Spokesperson of the Command, Olusola Odumosu, disclosed this in a statement Today.
According to him, Commandant General (CG), of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, ordered Ogar’s removal Today.
He said the CG also directed Ogar to hand over the affairs of the Command to his Deputy, pending the deployment of a substantive State Commandant.
He exlained that an investigation panel has been constituted by the CG to look into the circumstances leading to the blockage of the entrance of the command’s office in Port Harcourt yesterday.
