Residents of Aleto in Eleme Local Government Area have continued to decry the hardship of the oil spill that occured on Monday this week is having on them and their sources of livelihoods.
Some of them including the youth president of Aleto community, Mbade Keene who spoke with our correspondent also denied claims by SPDC that the spill was an act of sabotage.
Paramount ruler of Eleme Community Chief Philip Obele lamented the dangers of the spill on them and berated both Shell, NOSDRA and DPR for failing to do anything about it.
Lawmaker representing Eleme constituency, Aforji Igwe on his part called on the Federal Government to call Shell to order and ensure total clean-up of the area.
Journalists who visited the community today witnessed that some persons have moved out of the community, with some staff of SHELL carrying out remedial cleaning of the Aleto River.
