The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in Rivers state has vowed to fight drug abuse to a stand still.
Commander in charge of Narcotics, Ahmed Mahmood made this known in a statement on Monday.
According to him drug abuse is a complex issue that affects people all over the world.
He said victims of drug abuse face stigma and discrimination which can harm their physical and mental health, and prevent them from accessing the help they need.
He also said the aim of this year’s awareness is to raise the importance of treating people who use drugs with respect, and also providing best voluntary services for all, offering alternatives to punishment.
