The Chairman of Labour Party in Rivers State, Favour Reuben has called on political parties not satisfied with the outcome of last Saturday’s election to seek redress in court.
Reuben in a statement in Port Harcourt on Monday, said election results are not changed through protests on the streets, but in the law courts.
He advised aggrieved political parties to accept the outcome of the election, as ruling parties always win local government elections because they control the poll.
Reuben called on political parties not to take laws into their hands, as they do not want crises and bloodshed in the state.
He said local government elections are not used to judge political parties.
Some opposition parties had staged a protest after results of the election were announced, stating that it was rigged in favor of the ruling party in the state.
They have also called for outright cancelation of the poll and urged the chairman of the State Electoral Commission to resign.
