The Rivers State Police Command, says it has deployed over 17,500 personnel to ensure adequate security of lives and properties,  during Saturday’s local government election in the state.

The state commissioner of Police Eboka Friday, disclosed this in a meeting with leaders of political parties in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.

He stated that all entry and exit points of the State will be blocked until the elections are over.

The CP, also announced restriction of movement from 12 midnight on Friday, April 16 to 2:00 PM on Saturday April 17, 2021.

He advised residents to obey the directive, as anyone caught flouting it, will face the wrath of the command.
