The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), says it has shortlisted names of successful candidates who applied as adhoc staff for the forthcoming April 17, local government election in the state.
The commission, which made this known in a statement today, said names of successful candidates have been published on, The Monitor, National Network, Topnews and The Tide newspapers.
It advised candidates to check for their names and wait for the next line of action.
RSIEC, called on residents of the state to come out in their numbers and vote their preferred candidates, while stating that the election will be free and fair.
It assured electorates of adequate security during the poll, as relevant security agencies are ready to deal decisively with anyone who indulges in illegal act, during the poll.
