Some political parties in Rivers State, have berated the State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). This is for Postponing the date for the conduct of primaries, for the forthcoming local government elections, to February 21, 2021.
Chairman of Labour party in the state, Favor Reuben in a statement yesterday, accused the Commission of postponing the date, in order to accommodate the People’s Democratic Party.
Reuben who alleged that the Commission is neglecting other parties, wondered if the commission would have done the same, for another political party.
Chairman of African Action Congress AAC, in the state, Progress Ogbokuma on his part, blasted the commission for the move.
He alleged that the electoral body extended the date, to allow the PDP, conduct its primaries.
He said going by what has happened, the PDP is no longer qualified to participate in the April, poll.
