Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has blasted some Local Government chairmen for going as far as buying christmas goats and rice for his parents, simply because they want to return elected.
The governor revealed this in a statement during the commissioning of some road projects, few days ago.
He said such gestures cannot guarantee anyone a second term, as the only criteria to return elected is “operation show what you have done.”
The governor who did not disclose the names of such persons, informed them that there money is gone.
“Because you want to be returned as Chairman, you started buying Christmas goat for my father, you went to my mother you, bought her rice, thank you for buying her rice, thank you very much. My mother said I should thank you for buying her rice, because you have seen me so poor that I can not buy rice. So you sent her rice, your money is gone ooh!” he said.
