Four suspects identified as Omens Woke, Young Chitu, Obichi Ngita and Chiosm Honest have been arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder of a commuter, identified as Onyekachi Obioma Chukwuagu, by the Police in Rivers State.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP. Grace Koko in a statement said the incident reportedly occurred at the Emouha axis of the East/West Road, few days ago.
Her statement reads,
The four suspects; Obichi Ngita, 20, Chisom Honest, 20, Young Chitu, 21 and Omens Woke, 23, on Tuesday, March 22, while pretending to be regular passengers, boarded the victim’s vehicle.
When they got to a quiet point of the route, they kidnapped the victim and abandoned the vehicle marked GDD 250 MU by the roadside.
Upon receipt of the complaint, the command swiftly mobilised operatives to the scene, where they cordoned off the area and commenced an intensive search, resulting in the arrest of Chisom Honest, who led operatives to the rest of the gang, and the location of the victim’s corpse.
