The Rivers State Emergency Medical Services has advised residents to call these numbers 09040222281, 09040222283 and 09040222285 in times of emergency, stressing that the 112 emergency number released by the State Commissioner for Health, Adaeze Oreh is not yet operational.
Director of Emergency Medical Services in the state, Ojum Sylvanus released the numbers in a chat with newsmen while explaining reasons it did not respond immediately to the gas explosion at Oroazi few days ago.
According to him, the Service did not receive any calls from from eyewitnesses at the scene of the explosion.
He also said personnel were already engaged in responding to another emergency involving a building collapse in Igwuruta at the time
